Psalm 41:1 sn One who treats the poor properly. The psalmist is characterizing himself as such an individual and supplying a reason why God has responded favorably to his prayer. The Lord’s attitude toward the merciful mirrors their treatment of the poor. Psalm 41:1 tn Heb “in the day of trouble” (see Ps 27:5 ).
Ps. 41:12. David looked forward to dwelling with God forever. As part his faith, David believed that God would uphold his integrity in the face of the lies against him and also allow him to dwell forever with God: “ 12 As for me, You uphold me in my integrity, and You place me in Your presence forever.” (Ps. 41:12).
