His trumpet and flugelhorn performances have graced hundreds of albums by a wide range of artists from James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, Chaka Khan, and George Benson, to Frank Sinatra, Steely Dan, David Sanborn, Horace Silver, Jaco Pastorius, and Frank Zappa.

Michael Brecker. Michael Leonard Brecker (March 29, 1949 – January 13, 2007) was an American jazz saxophonist and composer. He was awarded 15 Grammy Awards as a performer and composer, received an honorary doctorate from Berklee College of Music in 2004, [3] and was inducted into the DownBeat Jazz Hall of Fame in 2007.
With the Brecker Brothers set aside, Randy continued his extensive session work, appearing on albums from across the musical spectrum, including works by Jaco Pastorius, Charles Mingus, Donald Fagen, Spyro Gyra, Phoebe Snow, George Benson, and Frank Sinatra, just to name a few.
