Granted amnesty by the British government, he returned to Scotland, but some members of his family were not finished with the Stuarts. His daughter, Clementina Walkinshaw, would become well-known as the mistress of Charles Edward Stuart. [9]
Clementina Maria Sophia Walkinshaw (1720 – 27 November 1802) was the mistress of Charles Edward Stuart. Born into a respectable Scottish family, Clementina began to live with the Prince in November 1752 and remained his mistress for eight years.
More than 40 years after I first visited Walkinshaw House, the ruins still stand – like a faded jewel in the dilapidated diadem of Renfrewshire’s long lost architectural heritage. One celebrated family member was Clementina Walkinshaw, the mistress of Bonnie Prince Charlie, who gave birth to their daughter, Charlotte, Duchess of Albany.

Clementina Walkinshaw (c.1720–1802), ... Clementina was named after Clementina Sobieska, the Polish wife of Prince James Francis Edward Stuart.
