7 de may. de 2018 · I absolutely love, LOVE this boxed set :-}I remember back in the early 1970s soon after Oscar died when I wrote my friend, his widow June Levant, suggesting that she approve Columbia records producing a "memorial" set with ALL of Oscar's recordings {and with me writing the liner notes :-} and she loved the idea but we never could bring it to fruition with Columbia.

1 de ene. de 1998 · Oscar Levant was probably the funniest and most entertaining man I ever saw as the host of a TV talk show. His show I think was called "The Oscar Levant Show" and was on late night TV probably on channel 13 PBS in the late 60s. My favorite quote of Oscar -- "When I was young I looked like Al Capone but lacked his compassion"

Oscar Levant s'installe en 1922 à New York, avec sa mère, Annie, juste après le décès de son père, Max. Il fut marié avec l'actrice Barbara Woodell. Il se marie en secondes noces avec l' actrice et chanteuse June Gale en 1939 , et restera marié avec elle jusqu'à sa mort.
Oscar Levant was Jack Paar's favorite dance partner. Throughout the late 1950’s and early 60’s, Levant’s wickedly funny barbs delighted audiences and mortified the censors on shows like What’s My Line , The Celebrity Game and most famously on The Tonight Show with Jack Paar .
