This is a brand new, sealed State Fair (1945 & 1962) soundtrack CD featuring the music of Richard Rodgers and Hammerstein. The CD is in the format of a standard audio CD and was released by Varèse Sarabande (USA) in 1999.
In 1962, an unsuccessful remake of the musical film was released. In 1969, the St. Louis Municipal Opera presented the world stage premiere of State Fair starring Ozzie and Harriet Nelson. The production was directed by James Hammerstein, supervised by Richard Rodgers and choreographed by Tommy Tune.
This 1962 remake of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II’s 1945 movie musical, State Fair, stars Pat Boone and Pamela Tiffin as a pair of innocent Texas country mice who find complicated romance with, respectively, Ann-Margret and Bobby Darin at the titular big event.
