22 de ago. de 2022 · Grateful Dead vocalist Donna Jean Godchaux’s 75th birthday is today, celebrate by revisiting her first tour with the band on their landmark Europe ‘72 run.
In 2007, the band was originally made up of Donna Jean Godchaux-MacKay (formerly of the Grateful Dead) and members of the Zen Tricksters. Donna Jean, a beautiful Southern girl from Muscle Shoals, takes centre stage as its lead singer and songwriter. She’s responsible for bringing a soulful and powerful voice to the mix.
Donna Godchaux. Born August 22nd 1947, Sheffield, Alabama. Muscle Shoals, Nashville and Memphis session singer, performed on Elvis Presley's 1969 Memphis recordings, amongst others. Met and married Keith Godchaux, recorded together and with the Grateful Dead. After Keith Godchaux's death, she remarried and returned to Alabama.
