The Thacher community was incredibly fortunate to welcome poet, musician, playwright, and three-term Poet Laureate for the United States Joy Harjo to campus yesterday. Ms. Harjo treated us to music, poetry, and stories from her life during our Head’s invite and visited with student musicians and riders during her time at the School.
Thacher's blend of rigorous academics and outdoor life is distinctive and distinguished. Nearly 20 advanced courses are offered. Students live by an Honor Code. The Thacher School offers 13 interscholastic sports: Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Dance, Equestrian, Football, Lacrosse, Rock Climbing, Soccer, Tennis, Track and Field, Ultimate Frisbee and Volleyball. The Thacher School is ranked as one of the top 20% of private schools in California for most sports offered.
