Lascelles was born at Goldsborough Hall, near Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, and was baptised with The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of York as his godparents. Career He was the first cousin of Queen Elizabeth World War II He was styled The Honourable Gerald Lascelles. After Edward VIII abdicated, he became 8th in the line of succession.
