12 de feb. de 2007 · If you're like 99% of music fans then you equate The Ides of March with one song - 1970's 'Vehicle'. I'm guilty as charged. I didn't even know this album (their second studio set), existed for years. Co-produced by Vic Destocki and Frank Rand, 1971's "Common Bond" wasn't a major change in musical direction for the group.

8 de may. de 2023 · The Ides of March's second album, Common Bond, was a more wide-ranging yet less consistent affair than their debut LP. On some of the tracks, they were obviously sticking to the Blood, Sweat & Tears-like format that had yielded their 1970 smash hit "Vehicle."

With the 1970 hit single "Vehicle" and the album of the same name, the Ides of March became one of the most popular bands of the era to incorporate soul-oriented horn arrangements into a rock setting, without sacrificing the rich vocal harmonies they'd employed since they began to release records in the mid-1960s.
