He is best known for his comedy and western movies appearances during Hollywood’s Golden Age in the 1940s to 1960s decade. Moreover, people primarily recognize him as Superman’s adoptive father in the 1978 film Superman: The Movie. Ford was born in Quebec, Canada, on 1 May 1916.

He was promoted to captain in 1968. Glenn Ford was married four times, and a son, Peter Ford. He died at 90 years old on August 30, 2006 at his residence of Beverly Hills.

In 1978, Ford was cast as Superman’s earth father Jonathan Kent in Superman (1978). In his final scene, “Rock Around the Clock” is played on the radio.
