The front of Topps' 1969 Hank Bauer card. (Milo Stewart Jr./National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum) What I notice most about Bauer’s 1969 card is the amount of perspiration on his face. When this photograph was taken, likely during the 1966 or ’67 season, he was a good six to seven seasons removed from his playing days.
