George Stevens. George Cooper Stevens (* 18. Dezember 1904 in Oakland, Kalifornien; † 8. März 1975 in Lancaster, Kalifornien) war ein US-amerikanischer Filmregisseur, Drehbuchautor, Filmproduzent und Kameramann. George Stevens (December 18, 1904 – March 8, 1975) was an American film director, producer, screenwriter and cinematographer. Among his most notable films were Diary of Anne Frank (1959), nominated for Best Director, Giant (1956), winner of Oscar for Best Director, Shane (1953), Oscar nominated, and A Place in the Sun (1951), winner of Oscar for Best Director.
