  2. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia William A. Seiter (June 10, 1890 - July 26, 1964) was an American film director. He was born in New York City. After attending Hudson River Military Academy, Seiter broke into films in 1915 as a bit player at Mack Sennett's Keystone Studios, doubling a cowboy.

Seiter developed into a proficient and prolific technician in a number of genres and was especially adept at light, breezy fare, such as the wonderful Laurel and Hardy romp, "Sons of the Desert" (1933), the underrated Fred Astaire-Ginger Rogers vehicle "Roberta" (1935), and the engaging romantic drama, "This is My Affair" (1937).

  4. Seiter also acted in 118 films including "Roberta," "Dimples," "Stowaway," "You Were Never Lovelier," "One Touch of Venus," and "Lover Come Back." From 1915 in silent movies, he worked as a stunt double and bit player, quickly graduating to directing comedy shorts and advancing to features in the 1920s.
