24 de jul. de 2015 · Josiah Magama Tongogara (1938-1979) was a Zimbabwean nationalist leader who commanded the Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army (ZANLA) guerrilla forces against the Rhodesian regime. Tongogara was a major figure at the 1979 Lancaster House negotiations which led to Zimbabwe’s independence but was killed in a car crash six days after the agreement was signed.
In a military triumvirate, the 3 commanders, Lookout Masuku, Josiah Tongogara and General P Walls would be representatives of the 3 former armed wings in the struggle.
