Biografia. Françoise Charlotte era l'unica figlia di Charles d'Aubigné e Geneviève Piètre, che erano sposati dal 23 febbraio 1678. Poiché erano poveri, i suoi genitori si appellarono alla futura moglie di Luigi XIV, la marquise de Maintenon perché li aiutasse con la sua educazione.

Théodore-Agrippa d'Aubigné (February 8, 1552 – April 29, 1630) was a French poet, soldier, propagandist and chronicler. His epic poem Les Tragiques (1616) is widely regarded as his masterpiece.
1698 schenkte sie das Schloss Maintenon ihrer Nichte Françoise Charlotte d'Aubigné anlässlich deren Hochzeit mit Adrien-Maurice de Noailles. Nach dem Tod des Königs im September 1715 zog sie sich nach Saint-Cyr zurück, wo sie bis zu ihrem Tod 1719 wohnte und auch beigesetzt wurde.
Françoise d'Aubigné Scarron, marchiză de Maintenon ( 27 noiembrie 1635 - 15 aprilie 1719) a fost metresa regelui Ludovic al XIV-lea al Franței. Inițial, ea a fost cunoscută ca Madame Scarron, și mai târziu ca Madame de Maintenon. Căsătoria cu regele nu a fost anunțată oficial sau admisă ca atare.

She was known during her first marriage as Madame Scarron, and subsequently as Madame de Maintenon. Her marriage to the king was never officially announced or admitted.
