These are the chaps partly responsibly for the execution of Henry VIII’s fifth bride, Katherine Howard. Young Katherine was only 19 when she was executed for treason.
Thomas Culpeper. Thomas Culpeper ( c. 1514 – 10 December 1541) was an English courtier and close friend of Henry VIII, and was related to two of his queens, Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard. He is known to have had many private meetings with Catherine during her marriage, though these may have involved political intrigue rather than sex.

Joyce Culpeper is a very mysterious woman since not much is known about her. For this illustration I used the portrait of Catherine Howard, a sketch of an unknown woman whom I strongly believe is Catherine’s sister by Hans Holbein and a brass rubbing of her grandmother, Elizabeth Ferrers.
