  6. When Duke François de Guise was born on 17 February 1519, in Bar-le-Duc, Meuse, Lorraine, France, his father, Claude de Lorraine, was 22 and his mother, Antoinette de Bourbon-Vendôme, was 25. He married Christine van Oldenburg - Princess of Denmark on 10 July 1541, in Brussels, Belgium. He registered for military service in 1554.
