Hermann Carl Vogel (Leipzig, 3 d'abril de 1841 - Potsdam, 13 d'agost de 1907) va ser un astrònom alemany, un dels pioners en l'ús de l'espectroscopi en astronomia. Hermann Carl Vogel (April 3, 1841 – August 13, 1907) was a German astronomer. He was born in Leipzig, Kingdom of Saxony. Vogel pioneered the use of the spectroscope in astronomy. He applied this instrument to chemically analyze planetary atmospheres and to determine the Sun's rotational period using the Doppler effect.
Hermann Carl Vogel (1841-1907) Born in Leipzig on 3 April 1841, he first studied at the Polytechnical school in Dresden, and then returned to Leipzig to study natural sciences at the University, where he became assistant at the Observatory.
