14 de may. de 2018 · Hilbert, David (1862–1943) German mathematician, b. Russia. He was professor of mathematics (1895–1943) at the University of Göttingen. Hilbert's Foundations of Geometry (1899) had the most profound influence on the study of geometry since Euclid, establishing a rigorous axiomatic basis for the subject.
David Hilbert nació el 23 de enero de 1862 en Königsberg, al este de Prusia (hoy Kaliningrado, Rusia). Hijo de Otto Hilbert y Maria Theresa Erdtmann. Cursó estudios y posteriormente dio clases en la universidad de su ciudad de nacimiento hasta 1895. Después marcha a la Universidad de Gotinga.
