Deutsch: Christian Daniel Rauch (* 2. Januar 1777 in Arolsen (damaliges Fürstentum Waldeck) in Hessen; † 3. Dezember 1857 in Dresden) war einer der bedeutendsten und erfolgreichsten Bildhauer des deutschen Klassizismus. Er war ein Schüler von Johann Gottfried Schadow und zählt zur Berliner Bildhauerschule.
Fue diseñado por Christian Daniel Rauch y construido entre 1875 y 1879. Conmemora la victoria de Federico Guillermo I de Brandeburgo contra las tropas suecas en 1675. El costo de construcción fue de 100,000 marcos. El décimo día de Sedan, el 2 de septiembre de 1879, tuvo lugar la inauguración.
