Augusta, Princess of Wales (1719-72) Augusta was the daughter of Frederick II, Duke of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg and Magdalena Augusta of Anhalt-Zerbst. She married Frederick, Prince of Wales, the eldest son of George II who died in 1757 before becoming King. Augusta's role as collector or patron is perhaps most notable in portraiture.

Magdalena Augusta von Anhalt-Zerbst, Prinzessin von Anhalt-Zerbst, was born 13 October 1679 in Zerbst to Karl Wilhelm von Anhalt-Zerbst (1652-1718) and Sofie von Sachsen-Weißenfels (1654-1724) and died 11 October 1740 Gotha of unspecified causes.
