Frederick III (born Oct. 18, 1831, Potsdam, Prussia—died June 15, 1888, Potsdam) was the king of Prussia and German emperor for 99 days in 1888, during which time he was a voiceless invalid. Although influenced by liberal, constitutional, and middle-class ideas, he retained a strong sense of the Hohenzollern royal and imperial dignity.

Frederick III of Holstein-Gottorp (22 December 1597 – 10 August 1659) was a Duke of Holstein-Gottorp . He was the elder son of Duke Johann Adolf of Holstein-Gottorp and Princess Augusta of Denmark. Frederick III ( French: Ferry) (1240 – 31 December 1302) was the Duke of Lorraine from 1251 to his death. He was the only son and successor of Matthias II and Catherine of Limburg . He was not yet thirteen years of age when his father died, so his mother assumed the regency for a few years.

On 10 April 1280, Helene of Saxony, daughter of Albert I, Duke of Saxony, and Helene of Brunswick-Lüneburg, became his wife.
