18 de sept. de 2019 · The first Isle of Wight Festival took place in 1968, supposedly when the island’s swimming pool association needed to raise money, and the idea of holding a pop event sounded like a splendid idea. The 150-acre Hayles Field (dubbed Hell’s Field) was secured, and over two days 10,000 people saw performances by The Move, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Jefferson Airplane and Arthur Brown , among others.

Le Festival de l'île de Wight (en anglais : Isle of Wight Festival) est un festival de musique pop et rock britannique qui se tient annuellement à Newport sur l' île de Wight, dans le sud du Royaume-Uni. De sa création en 1968 à 1970, il s'agit d'un évènement lié à la contre-culture des années 1960, tout comme le Festival de Woodstock 1 .

There are recycling bins and general waste bins throughout the Festival Site. Please recycle your cups by returning them to the designated cup return points located by the main bars around the site. Camping style chairs & inflatable seating are allowed on-site, but please be aware there will be a designated point in the Main Arena beyond which you will not be able to take such items.
