The car collection of the 29th Sultan of Brunei is the largest private car collection in the world, consisting of approximately 7,000 cars which have an estimated combined value over US$5 billion. Most of the notable cars in the collection were purchased by Prince Jefri Bolkiah, the elder brother of the Sultan.

While his older half-brother, Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah, will be the next Sultan of Brunei, Prince Mateen has increasingly been seen accompanying Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah or acting as his representative at several significant diplomatic events and engagements over the past few years.

The Bolkiah elders say their lineage traces to Yemen. Since official records began several hundred years later, Brunei’s early history is unknown and exact details are lost to time.
