He was the first leader of an Axis country to die.

Monument to Tsar Boris III. Boris III, born on January 30, 1894, began his royal journey as the prince of Turnovski, eventually ascending to the throne of Bulgaria on October 3, 1918, following the abdication of his father, King Ferdinand I. His reign as king continued until his passing on August 28, 1943.
