With Chick, Jack DeJonette and Dave Holland straight out of Miles Davis's Bitches Brew-era band, you know this is going to be intense. And it IS! This is not a fusion or middle-of-the-road, CTI style jazz album. This is the avant-garde! Released in 1974, it really feels like it was recorded in the late 1960s or, maybe, 1970 for Columbia.

The issue for me with this recording by Chick Corea, is the compositions aren't as timeless as some of the great Spanish tunes played by the likes of Segovia. Most disconcerting is the use of some of the earliest digital keyboards which place this record in the decade of 1970.
