Sir William Chambers (028), Architect, 1723-1796 Sir William Chambers was one of the most prominent architects in Britain in the eighteenth century. He served as the Architect of the King's Works and was a founding member of the Royal Academy of Art. His works included the remodeling at Buckingham Palace, and the design of Somerset House in London.
