16 de oct. de 2020 · Alexander Ramsay var en skotsk offiser. Under Kalmarkrigen førte han de skotske leietroppene som i 1612 ble angrepet ved Kringen i Gudbrandsdalen, det såkalte Skottetoget. Ramsay, som var en av de få overlevende, fikk siden vende tilbake til Skottland.
Sir Alexander Ramsay of Dalhousie (c. 1290–1342) (sometimes spelt: Dalwolsey [1]) was a Scottish nobleman and knight who fought for David II, King of Scots in the south of Scotland in the Second War of Scottish Independence. He is remembered especially for his actions during the siege of Roxburgh Castle .
"Alexander (Ramsay). Under the description of 'dominus de Dalhousy,' he granted to the Abbey of Newbattle in 1366-67, when his grandfather (see Note below) was apparently alive, but had denuded himself of the estate, the Blindhalch on the north of the Southesk, for his soul, and that of his wife Catherine, and that of his father Alexander, 'whose body is buried in Newbattle Church.'

Upon her marriage to Alexander Ramsay, she relinquished her title of a British princess and the style of Royal Highness.
