Wahrscheinlich nach ihrer zweiten Vermählung, also wohl nach 1060, lernte Graf Gebhard von Supplinburg ihre Tochter aus erster Ehe, Hedwig, kennen und heiratete dieselbe. Jedoch Pfalzgraf Friedrich, der Bruder des Erzbischofs Adalberts I. von Bremen (1043-1072), erhob den Einspruch, daß ihre Ehe wegen Verwandtschaft unzulässig wäre, und so wurden sie auf einer Synode zu Halberstadt getrennt.
Harzgau. The Harzgau was a medieval shire ( Gau) in the northeastern foorhils of the Harz mountains, part of the Eastphalia region of Saxony. It included the towns of Halberstadt, Quedlinburg, and Osterwieck, and was bounded by the Oker in the west, by the Großes Bruch swamps in the north, the Bode in the east, and the Harz range in the south.
