John Alderton (born 27 November 1940)[1] is an English actor. He is best known for his roles in Upstairs, Downstairs, Thomas & Sarah, Wodehouse Playhouse, Little Miss (original television series), Please Sir!, No, Honestly and Fireman Sam (the original series).
Voices. John Alderton is a British actor who is married to Pauline Collins. They both worked on the Little Miss TV Series. Alderton narrated the series, and voiced all the Mr. Men and various human male characters, such as the wizard. He is most known for providing the narration and voices on the first 4 seasons of Fireman Sam .

Collins married actor John Alderton in 1969 and lives in Hampstead, London with her husband and their three children Nicholas, Kate, and Richard. She also has an older daughter, Louise, with actor Tony Rohr. Collins gave Louise up for adoption in 1964 when she was a penniless single mother. They were reunited when Louise was 22 years old.
