Hester Grenville, 1st Countess Temple. Hester Temple, 1st Countess Temple, 2nd Viscountess Cobham (c. 1690–1752) was an English noblewoman.. The daughter and eventual heiress of Sir Richard Temple, 3rd Bt., (1634–1697), of Stowe, Buckinghamshire, she married Richard Grenville and was the mother of Richard Grenville-Temple, 2nd Earl Temple and of the prime minister George Grenville.
Daughter of Sir Richard Temple, 3rd Baronet; younger sister of Field Marshal Richard Temple, 1st Viscount Cobham. Lord Cobham was a lifelong bachelor, so his Viscountcy was made with a Special Remainder, firstly to Hester and her heirs male, and secondly to his second younger sister Christian Lyttelton.
