Dorothy Wellesley. Dorothy Wellesley, Duchess of Wellington (1889–1956), was a British poet, author, and literary editor. On 3 February 1977, the Duchess married Charles Wellesley, now the Duke of Wellington, at St Paul’s Church in Knightsbridge, London. He is the eldest son of the 8th Duke of Wellington, also known as the Marquess of Douro.
