  1. Charles Cavendish, Viscount Mansfield (c. 1626 – June 1659) was an English gentleman who sat in the House of Commons from 1640 to 1644. He supported the Royalist cause in the English Civil War . Viscount Mansfield was the eldest son and heir of William Cavendish, 1st Earl of Newcastle-upon-Tyne , who was so created in 1628, and his first wife, Elizabeth Basset of Blore. [1]

  6. 30 de abr. de 2022 · Granted noble titles. On 3 November 1620 Cavendish became Viscount Mansfield and on 7 March 1628 Earl of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. In 1629 he inherited his mother's barony of Ogle, together with an estate of £3,000 per annum. In 1638 he became governor of Charles, Prince of Wales, and in 1639 a Privy Counsellor.
