The Oratory also came back strongly in the second half scoring two good tries, but S Lee added a late try to make the final score even more resounding. Shiplake village is the historic and religious centre of the parish and contains Shiplake Farm, the Parish church of Saint Peter & Saint Paul on Church Lane, Shiplake House, The Plough pub and Shiplake College an independent boarding school. The College occupies the building and site of the historic Shiplake Court.
Pupils in Year 7 and 8 join the Lower School. All pupils in Year 9 and above join one of the five core Houses at the heart of College life. Orchard, Skipwith and Everett houses day pupils while flexi-, weekly and full boarders are housed in Burr or Welsh.

Shiplake College is an independent co-educational boarding and day school for around 520 pupils aged 11 to 18. There has been a co-educational Sixth Form since 1998 and in September 2023 girls joined in Year 7 as the College goes fully co-educational. Flexi, weekly and full boarding is available from Year 9.
