After Hillsborough County High School moved out of the building on Highland Ave., Thomas Jefferson Junior High School was founded here in 1928. In 1939, due to the increasing high school population in the Tampa area, Thomas Jefferson High School was founded in the Old Hillsborough County High School building at 2704 N. Highland Avenue in the city's Tampa Heights neighborhood.

This school has an amazing principal that is like another friend looking over your progress in school over the course of the four years. What i noticed is that he tries to determine the valedictorians early on in freshman year to track their accomplishments.

It’s a good school,with the new principal there hasn’t been a lot of fights the only bad thing is the drug use and the consequences.If students were caught smoking in the bathroom they would just close the bathroom and affect other students who have to go who didn’t participate.
