He was one of four boys born to Mortiz and Ann Münsterberg (Münsterberg, 1922 ). Münsterberg earned an M.D. degree in 1887 from the University of Heidelberg and a Ph.D. in experimental psychology from the University of Freiburg in 1885 (Benjamin, 2000 ).
