Mary Robinson, orig. Mary Bourke, (born May 21, 1944, Ballina, County Mayo, Ire.), Irish politician, the first woman to become president of Ireland (1990–97). She earned a law degree at the University of Dublin, where she became a professor of law (1969–75). She served in the Irish Senate (1969–89) as a Labour Party member.

On being asked to serve the tea, a woman responded to her husband: “Make your own tea, things have changed around here!”. That sentence was not an understatement.

Mary Robinson (Ballina, Irlanda, 1944), licenciada en Derecho por el Trinity College de Dublín, también estudió en el King´s Inn (Dublín) y en la Universidad de Harvard. En 1973 ingresó en el Colegio de Abogados de Inglaterra y con 25 años fue la profesora de Derecho más joven en la historia del Trinity College.
