3 de jun. de 2024 · Katherine's brother Henry Carey, Lord Hunsdon has a magnificent monument in St John the Baptist's chapel. Katherine was the daughter of William Carey and Mary Boleyn and was born about 1524. In about 1540 she married Francis, elder son of Robert Knollys.
Knollys presumably owed his entry to the Commons to the efforts of these two, while his nomination at Grampound was almost certainly the work of another master of tongues, Sir John Russell, Baron Russell. 5 de ene. de 2024 · Francis Knollys was born 1511, the elder son of Sir Robert Knollys (d. 1520/1) and Lettice Peniston (d. 1557/8), daughter of Sir Thomas Peniston of Hawridge, Buckinghamshire, henchman to Henry VIII. [1] He appears to have received some education at the Oxford. He married Katherine Carey.
