The historic listed building was badly damaged in a devastating blaze in 2017 and since then has been slowly rebuilt with plans for new holiday accommodation in the grounds recently approved.

  4. Parnham House is a Grade I listed stately home. The Strode family took possession of Parnham in the mid-1500s, when Richard Strode married Elizabeth Gerard, whose ancestor built the first house on the site in about 1400. The oldest parts of the present house date from the 16th century and it was the Strode family home for 200 years.
