Clash By Night gave Marilyn a more substantial role than her other films of this period, (with the exception of Don't Bother To Knock - released the same year) and whilst less glamorous than in later appearances, the qualities that appealed to many over the coming years are remarkably evident, even in this smallish role.

This is quite good, but I kind of wish we got more of Peggy and Joe because they’re very intriguing and have real chemistry.
