  6. 20 de dic. de 2018 · Allene Tew was born in Wisconsin on 7 July 1872 as the daughter of banker Charles Henry Tew and Janet Smith. Allene was famously married five times and owes her claim to royalty by her fourth marriage to Prince Heinrich XXXIII Reuss of Köstritz. Her first marriage was to Theodore R. Hostetter with whom she had three children.

An American Princess: The Many Lives of Allene Tew, became a Wall Street Journal bestseller and was named one of the best books of the year in 2019 by Man Booker Prize winner Hilary Mantel in The Guardian. The film rights have been bought by Joop van de Ende, and the book will serve as the basis for a Dutch-British television series.
