He was born in Crailsheim, West Germany, the middle child and only son of Kraft, Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg (1935–2004) and his first wife, Princess Charlotte of Cro (b. 1938). Paternally, he is a grandson of Princess Margarita of Greece and Denmark, and a grandnephew of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, whose funeral he attended.

Ernst Wilhelm Friedrich Carl Maximilian, 7th Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg (13 September 1863 – 11 December 1950), was a German aristocrat and Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg. He served as the Regent of the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha during the minority of his wife's cousin, Duke Charles Edward, from 1900 to 1905.

Hermann zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg. Hermann Ernst Franz Bernhard Fürst zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg (* 31. August 1832 in Langenburg; † 9. März 1913 ebenda) war der 6. Fürst des Hauses Hohenlohe-Langenburg. Er war der erste Präsident der Deutschen Kolonialgesellschaft. Fürst zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg als Statthalter in Elsass-Lothringen, 1905.
