  1. Henry Rich, later Lord Holland, was the second son and youngest of four children born to Robert Rich, 1st Earl of Warwick (1559–1619) and his first wife Penelope (1563–1607). His parents separated soon after Henry's birth, although they did not formally divorce until 1605, when Penelope married her long-time partner, Charles Blount, 8th Baron Mountjoy (1563–1606).

  5. Henry Rich, 1st Earl of Holland He was the son of Robert Rich, 1st Earl of Warwick and of Penelope Devereux, Lady Rich , and the younger brother of Robert Rich, 2nd Earl of Warwick . He began his career as a courtier and soldier in 1610 , swiftly becoming a favourite of King James I of England , but fell out of favour on the accession of Charles I .

  7. Earl of Holland was a title in the Peerage of England. It was created in 1624 for Henry Rich, 1st Baron Kensington. He was the younger son of Robert Rich, 1st Earl of Warwick, and had already been created Baron Kensington in 1623, also in the Peerage of England, having married Isabelle Cope, daughter and sole heiress of Sir Walter Cope (c.1553-1614), of Cope Castle in Kensington, Middlesex.
