  2. 11 de dic. de 2023 · In October 1317, Marjorie Bruce was killed in a fall from her horse. (See Research Notes) She was buried at Paisley Abbey, and Walter Stewart gifted the lands of Largs (which he had recently received from the king as a reward for his valor in battle) to the Abbey in return for prayers for the safety of the soul of Marjorie Bruce and himself.

Part of the wedding dowry which Marjorie Bruce brought to her husband was the castle and Barony of Bathgate in Midlothian, which it was intended would become their private family residence; but this was not to be.

  6. Marjory was Robert Bruce’s only daughter of Robert Bruce and Isabella of Mar. She was born around 1296. In 1306, Robert sent his wife, daughter and other female members of his family to the North of Scotland for safety. Unfortunatly they were captured and sent South to Edward of England, who was then at Lanercost Priory in Cumberland.

  7. He was born on 2 March 1316 in Paisley Abbey, Renfrewshire. He was the son of Walter Stewart and Marjorie Bruce. His mother died in childbith on 2 March and his father died 1326 and was buried in Paisley Abbey, where Robert II was born.
