25 de ene. de 2023 · Former Grand Prix driver Allan McNish has described a “very busy” but “exciting” time at Audi as work continues to gather pace ahead of the manufacturer’s Formula 1 entry. Last year, Audi announced plans to enter F1 in 2026 – when new engine regulations come into play – as a power unit supplier, before confirming that they will make Sauber their works team.

6 de mar. de 2022 · It’s fair to say that Allan McNish didn’t fit the typical profile of a Formula 1 debutant when he lined up on the grid for the 2002 Australian Grand Prix with the brand-new Toyota team. Aged 32, the Scotsman hadn’t raced a single-seater since 1995 and was already well established as a top sportscar talent, having won the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1998.

Ex-Toyota F1 driver McNish – a veteran endurance racer with three Le Mans 24 Hours wins under his belt and many, many more successes to boot – joined F1 TV as part of the Monaco GP commentary team.

If you take Le Mans in 2008, 15 minutes from the end the gap from our car (the Audi R10 of McNish, Kristensen and Capello) back to the second-placed car (the Peugeot 908 of Minassian, Gené and Villeneuve) was 1min 40sec. If you take Petit Le Mans in 2008, we had a six-second advantage after 10 hours.
