Kathleen Kennedy Townsend (born July 4, 1951) is an American lawyer. She was the sixth Lieutenant Governor of Maryland from 1995 to 2003. [1] She was unsuccessful in her run for Governor of Maryland in 2002. [2] Kennedy Townsend worked for state government of Maryland, including Attorney General .

She is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University’s School of Public Policy, and has been a visiting fellow at the Kennedy School of Government where she focused her efforts on faith and public life.
