Eleanor Roosevelt’s parents were Anna Hall (March 7, 1863–December 7, 1892) and Elliott Roosevelt (February 28, 1860–August 14, 1894). Hall, a debutant from a wealthy family whose lineage could be traced back to the American Revolution, married Elliott Roosevelt, brother to future President Teddy Roosevelt, on December 1, 1883.

Anna Eleanor Roosevelt ( New York, 11 oktober 1884 – aldaar, 7 november 1962) was een Amerikaanse politica, diplomate en activiste. Als echtgenote van de Amerikaanse president Franklin D. Roosevelt was ze de langst dienende first lady van de Verenigde Staten, van maart 1933 tot het overlijden van haar man in april 1945.
