Ernst Röhm. Ernst Röhm (1887-1934), Chief of Staff of the Sturmabteilung, was an prominent early Nazi leader. A close personal friend of Adolf Hitler, Röhm was one of the most powerful Nazis before the seizure of power. As leader of the paramilitary Sturmabteilung, he gained a reputation of ambition and agression, and was also a homosexual.

He also was a member of the German Reichstag, where he was a minister from 1933 to 1934.
Ernst Julius Günther Röhm (* 28. November 1887 in München; † 1. Juli 1934 in München-Stadelheim) war ein deutscher Offizier, Führer der Sturmabteilung (SA) und Politiker der Nationalsozialistischen Deutschen Arbeiterpartei (NSDAP).
