13 de ago. de 2021 · Amy Robsart was born on June 7th, 1532. Amy was the only child of Sir John Robsart, and his wife, Elizabeth. As the only legitimate child of Sir John Robsart, she was the heir to his estate and fortune. She grew up in a fervently Protestant household. Amy was very well educated and had beautiful handwriting.

AMY ROBSART, LADY DUDLEY. BORN: 1532. DIED: 8 SEPTEMBER 1560. First wife of Robert Dudley. Probably more famous for her death than her life, she was found at the foot of the stairs at Cumnor Hall. Complications of breast cancer were probably the cause.
Robert Dudley, the fifth son of John Dudley, Duke of Northumberland, married Amy Robsart on 4th June, 1550. It was suggested at the time that it was a marriage of love. William Cecil, believed marriages should be based on political and economic issues: "marriages of physical desire begin with happiness and end in grief".
Amy, Lady Dudley was the first wife of Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester, favourite of Elizabeth I of England. She is primarily known for her death by falling down a flight of stairs, the circumstances of which have often been regarded as suspicious. Amy Robsart was the only child of a substantial Norfolk gentleman. In the vernacular of the day, her name was spelled as Amye Duddley.
