Cromartie Sutherland-Leveson-Gower, 4th Duke of Sutherland, KG, was the eldest son of George Sutherland-Leveson-Gower, 3rd Duke of Sutherland and his wife, Anne Hay-MacKenzie, Countess of Cromartie. The Duke was appointed a Knight of the Order of the Garter (KG) on June 26, 1902 and was invested by King Edward VII at Buckingham Palace on August 8, 1902.
